We are pleased to invite your organisation to participate in the EUROLakes call for associated regions, supported by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme. This initiative offers local and regional authorities across Europe the opportunity to replicate innovative, nature-based solutions for the restoration of natural lakes, inspired by successful demonstration projects in Italy, Germany and Romania. If your region faces similar challenges to our demonstration sites and is committed to protecting and revitalising natural lake ecosystems, we cordially invite you to apply and join this transformative initiative.
As part of this call, EUROLakes will provide financial support to three successful projects with up to €75,000. The selected regions will jointly develop and implement tailored plans for the restoration of natural lakes using the 4-Returns-Framework methodology, under the direct guidance and with the support of EUROLakes experts and demonstration sites.
Who can apply?
The call is open to local and regional authorities (municipalities, nature conservation authorities, regional governments) from EU member states (except Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) and from countries associated with Horizon Europe. Applicants must be responsible for the management or protection of natural lakes and their catchments.
