Traveling exhibition “Places full of life” in the “House of Rivers” / Havelberg

Traveling exhibition “Places full of life” moves to the “House of Rivers” / Havelberg

From May 5 to June 17, 2026, the RAMSAR traveling exhibition “Places full of life – Wetlands in Germany” will be on display at the “House of Rivers” in Havelberg. Wetlands such as the Aland-Elbe lowlands or the Elbe floodplain Jerichow are far more than just beautiful landscapes: As Ramsar sites, they are world-class natural heritage. They serve as indispensable climate protectors, flood reservoirs and retreats for over 20,000 water birds and rare species such as otters, white-tailed eagles and the burnet.

The exhibition, which was created as part of the project “Opportunities and prospects for wetlands: Ramsar Sites and Wetland Cities in Germany” exhibition makes the importance of the international Convention on Wetlands tangible. Experience interactive insights into our native river landscapes and learn why their protection is more important today than ever. With the help of the project, the need for the protection, restoration and sustainable use of wetlands is made a topic for the general public.

The RAMSAR brochure on the exhibition is available as an e-paper here: Ramsar brochure – Global Nature Fund

Come and discover the unique world of wetlands of international importance!
