Promotion of organic farming in western Georgia

Project period: November 2023 - December 2028

We promote biodiversity- and climate-friendly farming methods in western and eastern Georgia. Through capacity building, an organic farming education program and the development of two training and demonstration centers, we are making sustainable practices accessible to farming communities.

Agriculture is one of the most important economic sectors in Georgia. Small farmers who have been farming for generations are showing more and more interest in converting to organic farming. Our project aims to provide training and demonstrations on biodiversity-friendly and climate-adapted cultivation methods for various crops. We will achieve this by working with local communities, vocational schools and by developing two training and demonstration centers for organic farming.
The two centers in West and East Georgia will bring together farmers and students to showcase innovative, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. We also sensitize young people and other relevant stakeholders through information events and dialogues.
