Joint press release by the Global Nature Fund and the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries
Bonn, 13.1.2026 – The Global Nature Fund and the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) are inviting you as part of the EU LIFE project “Fit for Biodiversity” to a highly topical webinar series. The online seminars are aimed in particular at managers and those responsible for sustainability in the agri-food sector who want to strategically prepare their companies for the growing risks of biodiversity loss.
The dramatic decline in pollinators, the progressive degradation of fertile soils and the destruction of valuable forests pose enormous challenges for the food industry. At the same time, protecting biodiversity offers great opportunities for resilient, sustainable food systems. This is precisely where the webinar series comes in: It shows how companies can systematically manage biodiversity risks and actively contribute to the preservation of stable ecosystems.
The second seminar on February 5, 2026 will focus on the topic of
“Successfully implement biodiversity management systems & start activities in the supply chain“. Participants will gain practical insights into how biodiversity can be recorded, evaluated and targeted measures effectively implemented in the supply chain – from the standard to the farm.
The agenda includes, among other things:
- Data collection and tools for risk analysis and assessment of biodiversity performance
- Prerequisites for a Successful Roll-out in the Supply Chain
- The Role of Standards and Certifications
- Support for Suppliers and Farmers
Jenja Kronenbitter and Tobias Ludes, project managers at the Global Nature Fund in the field of business and biodiversity, will lead the seminar. They contribute sound expertise from corporate practice and international biodiversity work.
The event will be held in German.
Further information on the event can be found here.
Registration takes place via the BVE website.
