Visionary final conference

16. June 2026
09:00-18:30 Uhr
Vlaamse Overheid - Herman Teirlinck Building, Brussels

The VISIONARY and ENFASYS projects invite you to the joint final conference “From Research to Action” in Brussels on June 16, 2026. The event will take place from 09:00 to 18:30 and is aimed at political decision-makers, scientists and stakeholders from agriculture, the food industry and practice.

The focus is on one central question: How can the transition to more sustainable agricultural and food systems in Europe be effectively shaped and accelerated?

Against the backdrop of increasing ecological and social challenges, the two projects show how systemic approaches in combination with behavioral science findings can contribute to initiating sustainable change. In particular, it focuses on political, social and economic instruments that can support change in the agricultural and food sector.

The conference offers insights into key results and recommendations for action from the project work. The following aspects, among others, are covered:

  • Why a systemic approach in combination with behavioral research is crucial for more sustainability in the agricultural and food system
  • Policy design principles and concrete interventions from ENFASYS and VISIONARY: exploring potentials such as science-policy interfaces, co-design processes and participatory approaches
  • Key topics from the project research: Payment systems and quality and origin labeling to influence consumer decisions, Sustainable food supply chains

Format

The event combines various formats, including plenary sessions, panel discussions and interactive breakout sessions. In smaller groups, case studies from the projects are discussed together with practical experiences from implementation.
The conference will mainly take place on site, but selected program items will also be accessible via hybrid media.

Visionary: The GNF is part of the 13 partner organizations from eight European countries that are working together to shed light on the entire food supply chain in Europe. They identify the biggest challenges and obstacles that slow down the path to greater sustainability and develop proposals for solutions for politics, agriculture and trade. They connect all relevant stakeholders along the supply chain to maximize the impact of our results.
