We are paving the way for a regenerative economy in Brazil. To achieve this, we train young people in nature conservation, sustainability, and entrepreneurial creativity. We connect them with local businesses and policymakers to foster the development of ecological and sustainable business models. In this way, we contribute to the protection of the Atlantic Rainforest.
The Atlantic Rainforest is one of the world’s most significant biodiversity hotspots – and simultaneously one of the most threatened. Only about 12 percent of its original area remains, a large portion of which is located in the Brazilian state of Paraná. At the same time, the region is socio-economically disadvantaged. Together with our partner organization Sociedade de Pesquisa em Vida Selvagem e Educação Ambiental (SPVS), we empower young people, teachers, businesses, and local decision-makers to promote a regenerative, nature-based economy in the region.
At the core of the project are educational programs for students, internships for young people, and a continuing education program for teachers. Through dialogue and networking, new impulses are generated for ecological career paths and socio-ecological business models. Sustainable tourism routes and a broad communication strategy are also planned. In this way, we connect nature conservation with future prospects.
