• Protecting biodiversity in agricultural supply chains

Protecting biodiversity in agricultural supply chains

Project period: since October 2021

We preserve biodiversity in South America. To this end, we design biodiversity-friendly supply chains. We inform food retailers about the cultivation of raw materials for their products.

One million species are threatened with extinction (IPBES, 2019). Ecosystems are being damaged. All living beings – including humans – need intact ecosystems to survive. The annual loss of ecosystem services is estimated to be worth 6 billion US dollars. One of the main reasons for this is intensive agriculture. If this changes, the problem becomes the solution. Agriculture becomes a habitat.

We inform food producers and retailers about the risks to biodiversity posed by traded products. We offer solutions for retailers in information materials. We share successful marketing and communication strategies for the sale of products from biodiversity-friendly cultivation.
