Fair Rubber e.V. – fair and sustainable natural rubber

Project period: since 2018

We are committed to the fair and sustainable production of natural rubber. With the Fair Rubber seal, we support environmentally friendly rubber cultivation and improve the living and working conditions of tappers.

Over 85 percent of natural rubber production is carried out by approximately 6 million small-scale farmers who have to operate under precarious conditions. Environmentally, rubber production is also problematic due to deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and harmful chemicals.

As a member and coordinator of Fair Rubber e.V., we advocate for fair trade and the sustainable production of natural rubber. The goal is to improve the living and working conditions of the people who cultivate this raw material – and at the same time minimize the ecological footprint of rubber production.

Companies contribute to this with every product that bears the Fair Rubber logo. Your fair trade premium goes directly to the rubber tappers. They decide for themselves how to use the funds – whether for clean drinking water, occupational health and safety, medical care or switching to more sustainable cultivation methods.
