12. June 2025

We are delighted that Louisa Lösing, a representative of the Global Nature Fund, has been appointed to the Cotton Advisory Board of the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF). The Advisory Board of the Aid by Trade Foundation is made up of international representatives from non-governmental organizations, textile companies, cotton companies and government organizations. Together, they contribute different perspectives and experiences and, with their expertise, are important discussion partners and advisors for the Aid by Trade Foundation. Louisa Lösing will contribute to the work of the Advisory Board with her expertise in areas such as the protection of biodiversity in agricultural supply chains.

“Biodiversity is an important focus of the AbTF’s work, which is committed to a transformation in cotton and textile production with its recognized cotton standards Cotton made in Africa® (CmiA), Cotton made in Africa Organic and Regenerative Cotton Standard® (RCS). In this way, nature is to be preserved and producers are to be supported in optimizing their operations and strengthening their resilience to climate change and market changes,” says the AbTF in its press release.

“Standard setters are key players in integrating biodiversity aspects into international supply chains and bringing companies together with producers. We try to actively support this with our work. We are therefore delighted about the invitation, the trust and the opportunity to contribute our knowledge to the work of CmiA,” says Louisa Lösing.

Louisa Lösing is Deputy Head of Business & Biodiversity and, in her role at GNF, supports companies and standard setters in biodiversity management, for example in the implementation of biodiversity-related due diligence and the development of measures to protect biodiversity.

Tina Stridde, Managing Director of the Aid by Trade Foundation, adds: “In Louisa Lösing, we have gained an expert in the field of CSRD and CSDDD who successfully advises companies on their biodiversity activities. We are very much looking forward to working with her and the renowned Global Nature Fund.”

About the Aid by Trade Foundation

The Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) was founded in 2005 by the entrepreneur Prof. Dr. Michael Otto and is today an internationally renowned and active non-profit organization for sustainable raw materials. Its work makes a decisive and measurable contribution to improving the living conditions of people and animals and to protecting the environment. With its verified raw materials Cotton made in Africa® (CmiA), Cotton made in Africa Organic (CmiA Organic), Regenerative Cotton Standard® (RCS) and The Good Cashmere Standard® (GCS), the foundation puts its goals into practice. In view of the increasing challenges posed to smallholder farmers and textile companies by the consequences of climate change and market changes, the standards are of fundamental importance for their resilience and sustainability. The foundation works in close cooperation with industry experts, animal welfare and nature conservation specialists. More information at: www.aidbytrade.org
