Promotion of organic farming in western Georgia

Projektzeitraum: November 2023 - February 2025
We promote biodiversity- and climate-friendly farming methods in western Georgia. Through capacity building, an education program for organic farming and the establishment of a training center, we make sustainable practices accessible to farming communities.

Agriculture is one of the most important economic sectors in Georgia. Small farmers who have been farming for generations are showing increasing interest in converting to organic farming. Our project aims to provide training and demonstrations on biodiversity-friendly and climate-adapted cultivation methods for various crops. We achieve this by working with local communities, vocational schools and by setting up a training center for organic farming.

The center, which is unique in the Martvili region, will bring farmers and students together to present innovative, sustainable and environmentally friendly practical examples. We will also raise awareness among young people and other relevant stakeholders through information events and dialogues.
