In Paraguay, poverty, environmental degradation, and social inequality are closely intertwined. Particularly in rural areas and indigenous communities, a lack of infrastructure, limited access to education, health care, and markets, as well as highly unequal land distribution, hinder sustainable development. At the same time, deforestation, soil degradation, and the effects of climate change are leading to declining agricultural yields and threatening the livelihoods of many families. Because large tracts of land are used for industrial agriculture and livestock farming, small-scale farmers and indigenous communities often have only limited production capacity and sources of income. The resulting economic uncertainties increase the risk of poverty, land conflicts, and social exclusion.<\/p>\n
