Fit for Biodiversity: Biodiversity and the Food Industry

The Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) and the Global Nature Fund invite you to exciting and relevant online seminars as part of the EU LIFE project “Fit for Biodiversity”. This seminar series is particularly aimed at managers and sustainability officers in agri-food companies.

A central question is at the heart of this: How can the food industry prepare for the growing risks of biodiversity loss while actively contributing to the protection and preservation of biodiversity?

In view of alarming news about the decline of pollinators, the increasing degradation of fertile soils, and the destruction of valuable forests, the agri-food sector bears more responsibility than ever: It must demonstrate how the protection of biodiversity and stable ecosystems can pave the way for sustainable, future-proof food systems.

The second seminar “Successfully Implement a Biodiversity Management System & Launch Supply Chain Activities” highlights practical steps and tools that enable companies to analyze biodiversity risks, implement successful measures in the supply chain, and effectively support their partners – from standards to farmers.

Agenda
  • Data Collection and Tools for Risk Analysis and Biodiversity Performance
  • Prerequisites for a Successful Roll-out in the Supply Chain
  • The Role of Standards and Certifications
  • Support for Suppliers and Farmers
Speakers
  • Jenja Kronenbitter – Project Manager at Global Nature Fund in the field of Business and Biodiversity
  • Tobias Ludes – Project Manager at Global Nature Fund in the field of Business and Biodiversity
