Dear supporters of the GNF,
The disastrous decision of Russia to invade Ukraine knows first of all only victims and losers: We feel with the peaceful people in Ukraine, whose homeland is destroyed, who had to flee and who have to mourn many injured and dead. And in Russia, many people are suffering under the sanctions and the country has already sacrificed thousands of young men to a pointless war. However, there is also an opportunity in the united solidarity of peaceful states and the claim to be free from despotic control over fossil energy sources. And it gives me hope that there are more and more initiatives worldwide for a sustainable coexistence of mankind and nature.
In our current newsletter you can get insights into new GNF projects in Mexico, Burundi and Paraguay. Furthermore, I would like to recommend our current Annual Report 2021 to you: This is 48 pages packed with information about global engagement for a better future.
We have little choice but to remain confident with one another. A heartfelt thank you for your support! Udo Gattenlöhner Executive Director, Global Nature Fund (GNF)
