Dear supporters of the GNF,
Currently it seems as if the world is regressing in important aspects: A senseless war in the middle of Europe and massive inflation are depressing the mood. The reaction of politics, for example the controversial fuel rebate in Germany, obviously has little effect on the people, but instead harms the environment. How can one remain confident in such a situation? It helps me to take a look at the impressive initiatives and projects reported in our current Global Nature Fund newsletter. A pan-European association for the protection of lakes and wetlands? A strong signal. Two young men in small boats on Lake Constance who manage to do what nobody has done before them, and draw attention to a major ecological problem? Tough performance. An ice hockey club that becomes a pioneer for sustainable textile sourcing? Bull's eye!
Together we can do it: moving forward instead of backward. With perseverance and creativity. And with your support: because without it, we can't do it. A heartfelt thank you for that! Udo Gattenlöhner Executive Director Global Nature Fund
