Dear friend of the GNF,

just back from the IUCN World Congress, we are full of energy and continue to pursue our worldwide projects for people and nature. But we do not want to hide the fact that the global project work is also facing challenges due to the ongoing Covid pandemic. Especially at this point, the support of all GNF supporters and donors is so important in order to continue our valuable work successfully.

The joint conclusion of the IUCN World Congress (International Union for Conservation of Nature) in Marseille is that many small steps lead to success, whether in fight against climate change, against the extinction of species or in the commitment to the conservation of habitats and drinking water resources.

Our projects all around the globe always take a variety of aspects into account in order to implement the measures on site in close cooperation with the people living in the project area. Currently, our project in the Okavango Delta is an example of this. Despite its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this region is under huge threat.

Please support us during these very challenging times in our efforts to preserve biodiversity and protect the climate! We thank you in advance for your contributions and will keep you informed about progress and successes of our projects.

We hope you enjoy reading our newsletter.

Focus on the World Heritage Site Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta is a unique natural paradise and home to many endangered wildlife species. In order to sustainably protect this World Heritage Site, our project measures alleviate the poverty of the population, promote economic development and regulate the use of water resources. In doing so, we also rely on your help.

Take a step against climate change - become a climate sponsor!

Our projects set an example against climate change: for example, more than 100,000 mangrove seedlings already store CO2 and at the same time protect coastal areas in India and Bangladesh. You can support our work with a climate sponsorship.

A prominent visitor at Lake Hovsgol

At the beginning of September, Jörn Rosenberg, German Ambassador to Mongolia, visited Lake Hovsgol together with his wife Ursula. On this occasion, both informed themselves about the project measures and their implementation through our project partners ecoDevshilt.
